Old Florida Celebration of the Arts
The charming island community of Cedar Key is preparing to welcome visitors once again for one of its most beloved traditions—the Old Florida Celebration of the Arts. The event will take place April 11th and 12th 2026 from 10am to 5pm.
Established in 1964 and originally known as the Cedar Key Sidewalk Arts Festival, this event has deep roots in the community. Since returning to a juried fine art fair format in 2006, it has steadily grown in prestige, earning recognition as one of the top small-town art festivals in the nation. Yet despite its accolades, it has never lost the laid-back, welcoming spirit that makes this event so special.
Unlike large, crowded art shows, the Old Florida Celebration of the Arts is intentionally intimate. Only 100 carefully selected artists are invited to participate, ensuring a truly high-quality experience for visitors. Each booth offers something unique—from stunning coastal-inspired paintings and handcrafted jewelry to photography and sculpture—giving attendees the chance to connect directly with the artists and their work.
Each year, approximately 15,000 visitors make their way to Cedar Key for the festival, drawn not only by the art but by the atmosphere. It’s an experience that feels more like a gathering of friends than a large-scale event.
One of the most heartwarming aspects of the festival is its community impact. This free event supports the Cedar Key Arts Center, the coordinating sponsor, while also benefiting local non-profits and Cedar Key School groups. Visitors can enjoy a variety of delicious food, beverages, and homemade treats prepared by these groups, making every purchase feel meaningful.
Whether you’re an art enthusiast, a collector, or simply someone looking for a weekend escape filled with beauty and inspiration, the Old Florida Celebration of the Arts offers something truly special. It’s more than an art festival—it’s a celebration of creativity, community, and the timeless charm of Cedar Key.
If you’ve never experienced it before, this is the year to go. And if you have, you already know—there’s nothing quite like it.
