The charming island community of Cedar Key is preparing to welcome visitors once again for one of its most beloved traditions—the Old Florida Celebration of the Arts. The event will take place April 11th and 12th 2026 from 10am to 5pm.
Every winter, like clockwork, Florida welcomes a familiar migration: the snow birds. These seasonal visitors leave behind icy driveways, frozen windshields, and weeks of gray skies in northern states to soak up the sunshine and warm breezes we Floridians sometimes take for granted.
We had the privilege yesterday of helping assemble the Cedar Key Christmas tree, and it was one of those small-town moments that remind you why this place is so special. There’s something magical about building a holiday tradition with your own hands—especially when it all happens in the heart of the city park, just steps from the beach and the Gulf. Quite a few locals were on hand to make it all happen and this year the tree was up in record time.
